Hi there! I’m Joseph Vanstraelen, the founder of Worth&Wellness. I am registered Mental Health Nurse, Cognitive Behavioural Therapist (CBT), EMDR Therapist and Family Intervention in Psychosis Therapist.
I started my career in mental health as a healthcare assistant on adult and children’s inpatient wards whilst training as a mental health nurse. Once qualifying I worked as a community mental health nurse helping those suffering with psychosis. During this time I trained and qualified as a family intervention in psychosis therapist with Kings College London to support families who have a loved one suffering with psychosis.
I then trained with Kings College London again to qualify as a Cognitive Behavioural Therapist and have worked with a talking therapies service in London which has given me the opportunity to work with many different cultures. Whilst working at the talking therapies service I self-funded to train in EMDR therapy with the EMDR UK association. I also have a passion for Acceptance Commitment Therapy and regularly access training opportunities to develop my therapy delivery.
I started Worth&Wellness to take on the challenge of creating lasting change for individuals by supporting them in understanding how to overcome their difficulties. Life always seems to throw challenges at us, yet I believe therapy is about empowering individuals with the confidence, tools and techniques to help overcome their challenges independently.
